Flashback

Cora started camp today and rushed off without even saying goodbye. She was ready.

Oliver is imitating our words more lately. His words still consist of mostly monosyllables, but they're starting to take more recognizable forms. A list off the cuff:
ball=ball
waa=water
coa=cora
teet=bird
moo=milk
daddy=daddy
mah=mommy
tees=teeth
nack=snack
ow=down
eye=eye
bye=bye
tee=tree
bebutt=belly button
ooh=shoe
bubbooh=bubble
ish=fish
tickaticka=tickle tickle!

We're brainstorming this list while Kate nurses Oliver in the living room. As we say his words he keeps popping off and confirming our pronunciation.

In documenting Ollie's words we were inspired to look up Cora's words when she was around his age. Here's the list from September 17th, 2002, when she was fourteen months old. The picture in this post is a picture of her from that month.

pooter=computer
tees=keys
buckle=buckle

noonul=noodle

boomboo=bamboo
bat=bath

It's amazing to see what a wide lens and nimble tongue Cora had at fourteen months (and that hasn't changed).
